Indonesian Stakeholder Roundtable Summary: Regulating Emissions for Coal-based Power Sector

The policy brief summaries the proceedings and recommendations emerging from the stakeholder roundtable organized in Jakarta, Indonesia on the roadmap for emissions control from coal-based power sector.  It identifies immediate action steps to be urgently executed in order to address key challenges and to expedite introduction of new emissions standards in the country.

Indonesia's Coal Power Emission Norms: Lessons from India and China

May 2017

The report analyses pollution performance of the coal-based power sector in Indonesia and presents suggestions for possible new emission norms, drawing upon the Indian and Chinese experience in the area. Significantly, it suggests several parameters – age, size and geographical concentration of the power plants to devise new emissions standards for Indonesia.

Report: Delayed Deadline - Analysis of coal power sector’s plan to meet new environmental norms


March 2017

This study shows the work in progress in compliance to the new standards for suspended particulate matter (SPM), sulphur dioxide (SO2) and oxide(s) of nitrogen (NOx) notified in December 2015. It is an in-depth analysis of the Central Electricity Authority’s regional power committee’s reports.

Policy Brief: Using the National Clean Energy Fund to Clean Coal Power Plants

Feb. 2017

A policy suggestion on how the NCEF funds can play an instrumental role to clean the coal-based power sector. Its impact is discussed and a financial analogy is made in accordance with the demands and requirements of the new environment norms that the coal sector has to abide.

    ईंट भट्टा एसोसिएशनए हापुर के सहयोग से सेन्टर फार् साय्णश एंड ईन्वायरमेन्ट 23 अगस्त 2017 को एक कार्यशाला का आयोजन कर रहा है।

    नियामक प्राधिकरण ने सभी ईंट के भट्टों को नोटिस जारी कर दिया है कि वे ज़िगजैग प्रौद्योगिकी के रूप में परिवर्तित हो जाएं और इस साल केवल उन भट्टों को ही संचालित करने की अनुमति दी जाएगी जो ज़िगजैग प्रौद्योगिकी का प्रयोग करेंगे ।

    ईंट भट्ठा मालिकों को उनकी भविष्य की कार्रवाई के बारे में सलाह देने के लिए और ज़िगजैग प्रौद्योगिकी के बारे मे बताने के लिए इस कार्यशाला का आयोजन किया जा रहा है।
